FSS contact

I'm just not having very good luck contacting FSS when I get up to open or close my flight plans. Lately I ask they briefer to reconfirm the freq. to use and make sure all is working, still having difficulty????? The other day I tried 3 different freq. on 2 different radios gave them over 10 mins to respond and still nothing. ANy ideas????

I just call the number listed in the AFD when I do file and need to close.

When I had your same problem I called the comment line (888/FLT-SRVC) and left a message detailing the problem. A few weeks later they e-mailed me and said that they were working on the problem. I actually haven't had any issues with them answering the radio calls since then.

I'll have to give that a try. I can't seem to raise the FSS on the Fairmont RCO, and have tried a few times.

I just did a dual x/c last week and had no trouble opening and closing with FSS over the radio. Probably very location dependent.
