Our very special guest for the 1st Saturday in December Aviation program and Pancake Breakfast is none other than Mike Stewart founder and Flight Leader of Team AeroDynamix formerly known as Team RV. Team AeroDynamix fills the sky with a stunning display of precision formation aerobatics that engages audiences from start to finish with a graceful, powerful, and exciting aerial demonstration. From the moment Mike, call sign "Kahuna", Stewart calls "smoke on" in the opening burst, Team AeroDynamix masterfully maneuvers its fleet through air show center to create an action adventure performance for spectators.

No other air show act in the world puts as many aircraft before the crowd at one time as does Team AeroDynamix. The resulting nonstop action is one reason spectators rate this show among their favorites, said Stewart. "From the ground, people watch all of us flying into and out of difficult formations right in front of them, and they share the same sense of anticipation and exhilaration that we feel up in the air."

The RV-series custom-built aircraft flown by Team AeroDynamix are stressed for 6 g's and attain speeds in excess of 230 mph. Most pilots built their own planes, and no two planes are exactly alike. Each paint scheme creates a colorful palette for spectators. Children, in particular, tend to choose their favorite aircraft and are quick to identify the pilots by the color of their planes.

Mike, a former member and officer of EAA Chapter 690 flies an RV- Super 8 he built and finished in 2006. Prior to that he built and flew his RV-6A for several years. Mike has 4000+ hours of flight experience, 3000 of those in RV's. He is an FFI (Formation Flying Incorporated) check pilot and has served as Chief Instructor for hundreds of formation student pilots around the country.

Mike has 20 years experience in the Technology Industry, and served eight years at IBM as Vice President, Development Director, and Sr. Manager ISS. Mike has flown more than 200 young eagles and has served on multiple EAA 690 boards as chairman and treasurer. Mike also is a volunteer for Angel Flight since 2004, and his was the first experimental aircraft approved for use by the charitable medical treatment transportation organization. Stewart holds Commercial, Instrument, and Sea Plane ratings. He also is a test pilot for the RV series aircraft.

Many of the Giant Scale R/C models hanging in the Chapter hangar are Mikes works having been an avid model builder prior to learning to fly. As part of the program he will discuss the influence model building has had on his aviation career.

Stewart now lives in Gold Hill, NC with his wife, Amy. To learn more about Team AeroDynamix, visit teamaerodynamix.com.
