How much longer will paper charts even be available?

Hard to say, but going through the process of learning to use them for flight planning, will help you to understand what Foreflight is doing for you.

My vote: Professional all the way...for yet one mor reason I don't see above: It allows you to accumulate your own documents and open them on Foreflight. I write lots of reference docs I like to use in flight and even on the ground. Yes, I could open them from another app, but it's really great when flying to just scroll to the document on Foreflight.

Standard also has the document feature. I use it for my doc reader even for non aviation related docs.

I have terrain on my GPS, I like having a second device with different terrain database, saying the same thing, it's cheap insurance like they said.

Also the georeferenced taxi is VERY nice. You can draw with your finger over the chart. Take Juliet to kilo, cross 38 turn right on golf continue on Alfa to fbo.
Looks much better as a nice green line over the chart.
