Is there a way to minimize the favorites in the airport tab

All of sudden I have mileage rings from my location on maps tab, how do it turn the them off?

Touch the gear in the top of the maps page that displays your chart. Turn "Distance Rings" off

EDIT: I just tap anywhere outside the list of favorite to minimize it.
