Forecast the winds

Awoke this morning with the news saying that airline flights are delayed with reported winds up to 50MPH. That is well beyond the demonstrated X-Wind performance (yes, I still adhere to that at my skill level in my go/no-go decision) of the C-172SP I'm scheduled to demo tomorrow.

We plan to meet tomorrow afternoon at 4p at W00, fly over to the practice area (near the DEALE intersection) and then come back.

Anyone care to prognosticate on if this flight will occur or not.

According to http://www.aviationweather.gov/adds/tafs?station_ids=KDCA&std_trans=translated looks like it "should" be reasonable. I don't usually plan 24 hours in advance though. Freakin' weather can change so easily.

I think you'll be good. These winds should die down by tomorrow. Hope you have a great test ride!

I 'was' going to fly down to my ranch yesterday and land at my private airport. 2WY3 .. till I started reviewing all the data... I called it off....

Thank god too... this remote weather station is about 3 miles away...

yeah,, the winds were gusting to 134 mph at about the time I was going to go too..... YUCK.
