I drove by it. It was 2000 feet or less from a FondDuLac runway directly abeam the airport. The plane looked 100% intact. I guess with all of those pilots driving up to Oshkosh they gave way correctly to the plane on the "runway."

We let a pickup truck go by with a police escort. It looked like they had tow bars to pull it out down the road.

Wow, the patrol car video was amazing. Did you see the trooper chase after that car and make the driver go over to the shoulder after it passed the plane? You think he gave him a ticket for "failure to yield"??

I heard the story on a CBS news report when driving from BWI into the office. It went like this: "If that doesn't sound like a runway in the background to you, it's because it's Highway 41 near Fond du Lac..."

Wow, that was pretty cool. You better believe the guy in the white car got a tongue lashing (maybe a ticket too).

I finally got to read the article and see the video. He did an amazing job of getting it down and avoiding the traffic. I'm guessing he was losing altitude too fast and could not make the airport as he was probably trying to do.

The way the one trooper ran after the one car, he must have ignored the lights and ran past the slow moving troopers. Usually when they are controlling speed of traffic, they are swerving back and forth across several lanes. You have to be an idiot to continue to pass.

Unfortunately there's way too many of those on the roads these days. I saw the video last night on the news and it looked to me he did a good job of putting it down. Very little damage and zero injuries. Ya gotta like that.
