Had a stress echo today. Report shows 8 mins but it was actually a few second shy of 9. Stress peak stage 2.99. Stress duration 59 seconds. 10.1 Mets. Hit max heart rate +1. Probably could have gone longer but they were using contrast and tried to time it to the end of the stage. All irrelevant since I am on Basic Med. I did have one concern and to be fair I haven't talked to the cardio yet but this was the result on the test they posted.

Narrative
· No echocardiographic evidence for ischemia
· Hyperdynamic wall motion. The estimated ejection fraction is 78%.
· No significant valvular disease.

I am particularly concerned about the second line. Doing some reading this seems like it could be bad or might be nothing. What doesn't make sense is I had an echo when I was in the hospital for AFIB just a month ago that showed EF at 53 and I was concerned it was low. I have had echos before and an angiogram in the past all with echos between 55 and 65. I know there is some error in estimation of EF but this seems pretty far off.

Do they calculate EF at stress? Or at rest?

Anything over 50% is okay unless it goes DOWN with exercise or down 5% year over year.
