Has anyone ever purchased/installed a FLITELite? I've seen it advertised in magazines and the PennSTAR helicopter crew that showed us their EC135T2 at KLOM yesterday have them installed on their flight helmets. Worth $49?

I haven't got one, but a flight instructor with whom I have flown has one, and loves it. It certainly appears to be a well-designed and executed product.

What exactly does it do? Is it like a chart light?

Looks like something you could use to kill someone. You sure that's not some sort of laser death ray?

Well I ended up ordering the FLITELite and it arrived today. After spending a few minutes with it in my pitch black closet with a sectional, it seems to work pretty well. Interesting concept (dim white lights rather than red) as well.

FYI--I purchased the coin cell battery pack for an extra $6 which is a lot smaller and fits onto my Lightspeed Twenty-3G much better than the larger (stock) battery box which takes 2 AAAs.

I'll let ya know how I like it after my next night flight.

Fly safe,
