Could be an interesting flight. Or maybe a drive tomorrow?

Heading up to Wisconsin and this is the forecast for the afternoon. But there is a chance it will clear out so we shall see

Curious about which method you used. It was so dark and gloomy in northeastern WI today that I don't know if I ever woke up. We got a couple inches of wet, sloppy snow overnight and it's melting as I speak.

I drove.

It was starting to clear here and looked like just a layer I could easily get above. But why take the risk when it only takes 2 hours to drive and I know I will be safe. The scud was sitting pretty low, about 800AGL so that would have been cutting it pretty close if I ended up not being able to make the approach. At least I had more than enough fuel to turn around, but if I started icing there would be very few options.

The 24th was great though!!! CAVU

But then today gloomy again, I had seen on the forecast a chance for snow on Monday as well. Put all that together and it was a pretty easy decision to not fly.
