Last Tuesday Barb and I left for a week, went over to one of the Cascade foot hill lakes on the east side (conconully)

We stayed at a State Park and set up camp with a bunch of old VN vets drank some booze and caught some trout.
The kids came over Friday evening and set upo camp next to us, all in all a great trip, Barb caught the big fish of the week, but all were around the 18-20 inch range.

4.25 diesel - 5 hour drive both ways, $135 for the site, seeing the grand kids catch her first fish, price less.

It was a nice few days off, and yes they were nice trout, about average for the catch I saw every one in the park showing off.
Those two little lakes at Conconully Wa produce nice fish early in the spring. but later in the summer it gets too hot and the trout turn soft. but this time of year the water temps are 36-38 degrees, because we had snow 500' higher, and the spring run off is in high gear.
