Gulfstream hit a fish while taking off.

Excerpt:

Wildlife Management and NOAA's aircrew suspect that the Osprey was perched on the runway eating its catch upon departure of the NOAA Gulfstream GIV. The bird must have taken off, because it saw the NOAA aircraft approaching. The bird barely got away and probably would have struck the aircraft, if not for dropping its catch.

That ain't a perch, that is a fluke.

I think the fish was just dying to tell his friends about the big one that got away. Guys, it was a G IV, really!

Pilots should have known something was wrong when they noticed the owner had replaced the Garmin GPS with a Humminbird.

So, now I guess there are two documented fish strikes. IMO, the salmon-thirty-salmon is a helluva lot funnier, though.

Wildlife Management collected the specimen from the runway and DNA from the aircraft and sent the samples to the Smithsonian Feather Identification Laboratory in Washington, D.C., for comprehensive analysis.

So, what kind of feathers did this fish have?

Just for the halibut, lets say it got ingested in the engine.

Salmon really needs to scale this back some. We're herring way too much about it.

Fortunately, there was a sturgeon on hand, but there were no injuries. Just a passenger who was blue around the gills.

"Gulfstream 1234, McDill - right turn approved, contact center on 122.35"
"Tower, 1234 - switching. So long and thanks for all the fish."

Surprised he didn't have him on the fish finder
