was 10 years ago today in a 172 from KBJC. A pitch hitter course paid for by work since I was fire spotting and did a lot of right seat. Kindled an interest so I started lessons a couple weeks later and never looked back. Log book (#2) now has 1463 hours and there is a plane in the hanger:D

I though of flying today just because but:

That's neat Eric. Happy Anniversary! Yes, I checked the METARS for BJC a few times yesterday and there were some gusts into the 90+ MPH range. No go for sure.

Way to go, Eric!

There are some folks on this board that I figured were born with an airplane and you are one of those. What a change in your life when you made that first training flight. One hundred and fifty hours a year for ten years in a fast plane, that's covering a lot of ground. May there be many, many more years of happy landings. -- Mike

Thanks. It's fun to think back. Flying has been a new chapter in my life.

Wind did get annoying, lasting so long. My office is pretty close to the foothills. Fun watching the geese fly. Formations were a little ragged at times and negative groundspeed was common. They'd try staight into the wind, not make headway, then start doing tacks north and south.
