My aunt recently entered hospice. I did what any normal person would do and asked for a ride on the local pilot mailing list. A kind soul responded, saying he had an empty seat in his 58P turboprop conversion. I *suppose* that would do.

The whole east coast was basically MVFR. After obsessively checking foreflight and skew-t's, we departed. Climbed up to 17k 220kias and I think 50 gph. As predicted by skew-t, we picked up a trace of rime ice. We descended to 15k and the ice was gone. Overall, the flight was smooth, quiet, comfortable, and fast.

Even from the back seat, I felt like I learned a lot. I can't wait to start my IR.

Not particularly important but, flight levels start at 18,000 (FL 180)

Okay, what the heck is that airplane? 58P is a twin engine baron. They really convert one into a single? Kinda looks like it.

I had the same question. Yes, they really did.

Thanks, fixed.

It has been done before to an old B model twin Barron
