I am sure this has been asked before, but my search did not turn up anything.

I am going out to visit family in SC in a few weeks, and I would really like to see how an airplane is supposed to fly when it is not handicapped by beginning the flight at 5500 MSL density altitude or higher. The problem is that some internet searches are just not finding places that rent out there. I can find a ton in Denver, and even a lot in Atlanta, but nothing in central SC.

Anyone out there that might be able to point me in the right direction to find someplace that rents. If they happen to rent PA28-181s or the like it would be a major bonus since I have not done any checkouts in Cessna models. If I really needed to I would hire a CFI and start a Cessna checkout program as well since I already intend to do that in the near future due to so many places out here having those for rent.

Thanks for any and all help guys.

You didn't say where you'll be in sc.

I've researched local airports and used Airnav to find companies listed there. Then, call and ask. Yeah, it takes a while.

Once you know specific airports, this forum is often very helpful.
