Wow. Another example of misleading and inaccurate reporting. Possible compressor stall followed by a rejected takeoff. High speed at gross weight rejected takeoff generates a lot of heat which causes the fuse plugs on the tires to melt, hence the blown tires. Not a common occurrence but it isn’t the emergency that media makes it out to be.
