It would sure help this transition if the 406 units weren't so dang speedy.
Did you think it was going away? The option is "If you don't want to buy a 406, you will not receive any SAR should you be reported missing." If your or your passengers' families call reporting you overdue or missing and you haven't been assigned one, they will be told that you were too cheap to be involved in the SAR system and therefore there will be no public resources spent on your rescue or recovery.
