E45 Pine Mountain Lake - CA

A popular destination for us West Coast Pilots. E45 is a pseudo airpark / Private community in the Sierra foothills. Elevation of 2900' with a Cafe on the airstrip. Just make sure not to be on a tight schedule if you're going to stay there for lunch.

My parents live on the lake up there, so I fly in often. There is a significant deer-on-the-runway problem up there though. You can see the experimental electric fence on the 9 end of the runway. When we were flying in, there was an airplane with a flat tire on the runway. That was due to the last minute effort to avoid the deer.
