Has anyone ever tried silicone caulk or some other kinda caulk and then put a release on the door side and close the door. Will that make a homemade door seal?

If i were to try something like this I would put saran wrap o the part I wanted to release and then spray saran wrap with a couple light coats of Pam. That way if Pam fails the saran wrap saves a costly door repair/replacement

Pre-takeoff checklist
Pretty sure mine has EPDM rubber door seals from Home Depot... Been going strong for 7 years and no leaks! Some birds need some bondo on the airframe side to smooth things out. (We do the same thing with F-15 canopy seals in the Air Force).

That's done on airliners all the time, so it must work. Don't need to spray anything on it.
