You wouldn't think that an 8-knot xwind would prevent the simultaneous operations on the intersecting runways needed to keep up their "best case" arrival/departure rates.
 
The ATCSCC frequently inputs a delay in as WIND into the OIS when a runway configuration change is in progress. If JFK or EWR changes configuration, so does LGA and that backs things up sometimes.

Thanks, Jason. I forgot about those pesky airports at JFK and EWR. And since wind doesn't seem to be a plausible explanation today, they were probably just setting up for the evening rush....

Ugh!! JFK taxi times. Last week it took 1.5 to get to the runway!! The guys up front must hate it too.

BTW... Anymouse has gone over to the dark side!!
 
I listen to JFK a lot on internet in the car. I'm amazed at how they manage to flip 13 and 31 with little delay between touchdowns from one direction to the other.
