So I have two David Clark headsets that we use for our Pax and H10-40 and an H10-20. The head pad on the H10-40 came off. It was the pillow type with 4 vinyl pockets. Its the 5th one down on this list.

In addition to some new gel ear seals ( the old one ruptured) I am ordering a new head pad and was just going to replace the pillow style but I'm wondering if the soft foam, the super soft double soft foam or sheep skin ones are really that much better.

I also have a pair of H10-20s that are basically head vises The ear seals are fine but wondering whether the gel ones will make them significantly more comfortable.

I had 3 David Clark had sets, one was noise cancelling. Called them to order new earpads and they had me send in the noise canceling one for refurbishment, no charge. Came back with ear pads for the other two, excellent service. All three came with the plane when I bought it. Can not say enough good things about David Clark.

I bough the Oregon Aero kit with sheepskin head pad and memory foam ear pads. They were great! Much better than gel ear seals. But this was probably 25 years ago.

I did the same on one of my older DCs, an H10-30. Big improvement in comfort over the OEM DC parts on that headset. Still got it and I get no complaints from pax on long trips.

This isn't a pitch, our earseals and headpads really are better than any of those. Those foam headpads are horrible. There are some decent cotton headpads other than ours.

Get our Twin layer TRUE gel earseals (not to be confused with those uncomfortable dual thick seals):

Then get our low profile Sheepskin headpad in black or brown:

It's the most comfortable of the headpad types in my book.
