All I can say is... Damn.
Here’s the new ‘milsurp’, 1917 ‘American Enfield’, made March of 1918, 30-06. My Son is the milsurp collector. This was made by Remington.
Once again we are happy to have our IFR rating... Flying to KOSH for AirVenture. VFR might have been possible, but we didn’t want to cross Lake Michigan at low altitude. Pictures within the clouds didn’t turn out well. Posted OSH arrival pictures earlier.
Arriving in Wisconsin...
Turn out kinda just all white and gray?
VFR for me. Not many issues in 4500 miles of flying (went to Ft. Worth after Osh), but did get forced down on the deck in Missouri. Cruising along happily at 8500' until the Wall of Weather appeared...dove down to about 1500' agl with 2500' ceilings and dodged shafts of rain for a half hour. Normally don't like to fly that low, but lots of good opportunities for unplanned landing on roads and field there. The occasional radio antenna DOES get your attention even if its top is 700' agl.
Flight home after passing my checkride
NICE. In my backyard. That there is the Asbury coal power plant.
This was a really good marketing button by WIPAIRE. Needless to say my fun meter was on MAX the whole time at OSH
Third approach on a hot, bumpy day. (recreated on the ground)

dual epaulettes.....at The Pig. only logical explanation I can think of is maybe they had a long break at KSOP?
That’s what you thought.......until you saw them both climb into a Cherokee 140 and takeoff. Just a coupl’a weekend warriors, don’t be fooled!
probably. there was a blue and white Cherokee that parked with their tail sticking out into the taxiway. that was probably them. almost couldn't get around him, but having some mad taxi skillz, I just had to send it.
Between Charlotte and Asheville.
Interesting looking storm over the gas plant tonight.
Saw this on Reddit. Gorgeous shot from a DA-20 Cockpit
True, just need to wrk on those picture framing skillz.
That’s not what my gas plant looks like...??
Is it just me, or does this picture look so clear, that I actually feel like I'm sitting in the cockpit... wow!
A little IFR/IMC action heading down to KCRE [N. Myrtle Beach] For some good seafood... Picture compliments of my wifee..
Our Trip from Michigan to Maine over the week. Some crazy weather #stormchasers.
I bet you had better seafood there than our trip to Maine this week. Was very disappointed.
Photoshop.... or not.
It wasnt our favorite restaurant this time due it being summer and people vacationing there, makes the wait unbearable.
Not that I am from Maine or know anything about it, but I do want to head up there and hit up some of the Lobster Shack's...
I love the shot of your wing against the clouds in the backdrop
Love Maine lobstah rolls. Usually best for a roadside shack along one.
Love a V Tail Bo
We had one from some dumpy place behind our hotel and it was basically crab meat with mayo inside a grilled hot dog bun. Still dropped like 30 bucks just for lunch alone.
the amount of people in Bar Harbor was insane! It was super hot and just too many ignorant people wandering around with their heads up their butts.
The cloud pic was on our way back to Michigan from Niagra. We had some pretty bad storms we were going around so we had to fly IFR back. Made for a great picture anyway.
A few pics from flying the past couple of days.
Photoshop? LOL. He did say he got it from Reddit.
What’s the rag for?
It's actually a handkerchief. To wipe my sweat off. It gets hot in there.
After a fun day of testing a downwind landing, trying to hand prop a flooded engine, and a somewhat bumpy ride home, the last landing of an all around fun day.
I'll post the downwind landing another time.
