Our EAA chapter hosted the Trimotor at TIP. My Dad's Model A club brought some of their cars up this afternoon, and we got some really cool pictures:

I'm still working with the polishing equivalent of 80 grit but I'm liking the results so far. It's gone from "I'll just polish out all the scratches" to "Eh, that one's not so bad," but I'll eventually go back and knock down the worst of them. I have a looooong way to go, but unlike painting the airplane is flyable while the process is underway.

Sad remains of a closed airport. The city closed it when they took over the former military base a few miles away. We are somewhat spoiled now with four runways, the longest being 12,000 feet.

Actually had 4 days off in a row so we flew out to GFL for the weekend. Then down to POU Sunday for breakfast and cheaper gas on the way back home.
