Met @simtech at HEZ for lunch
A few fires still smoldering in the Smokies this evening.
Tiny little grass strip with tall trees at each end. This is in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. My mechanic is based here, so my Maule and I are regular visitors.
Always good when you can get a quick 1.1 in after work on a Monday… or any day
Just finished a big cross country with the family Chicago to Phoenix and back. This was taken yesterday morning in Wichita.
They are great planes, but I love the Cessnas too!
Baring Mountain (6,240'), looking towards North Puget Sound.
Quick Sunday morning XC. Had to settle for 1.7 due to other obligations, but it got me to 7.9 for the week.
Greetings from Germany!
First trip done in the new plane! Got to fly all 3 variants that we fly. 757-200, 757-300, 767
Anyone wanna fly around Denver today?
When is "bring your friend to work" day? I want some 757 time.
I’m signed up for Twitter alerts for SIGMETs, I don’t recall a year with so many SIGMETs for turbulence, most over Colorado.
The boy (4) built his first original lego creation. Not going to claim it didn't make me smile...
What's with the T tail though?
is that technically a high wing? can you return the kid?
That's a better looking design than some of the things I've seen on the Internet looking for investors!
You could put that on Trade-A-Plane for $35,000.00
A tale of two directions.
I put a few hours on the plane yesterday...
Tach time: 13.4
IMC time: 2.8
Night time: 1.5
Smile time: 10.0
The Long Island Sound is now the largest body of water I've crossed (which isn't saying much). Getting to fly V16 over JFK is cool but doesn't get you close enough to Manhattan for good pics:
One of my passengers snapped this awesome rainbow pic.
For some reason I'm tired today.
So which 3.4 WASN'T "smile time"? The leg home?
Pretty much. I got too tired to smile.
Flying over Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX) this weekend in a Legacy 2000 experimental aircraft...

A couple of weeks ago on final back to the home base:
Then I parked next to this airplane that has the best N number I have seen to date. The owner was very nice (pun intended)

Something to do on Friday
Vectors through the Boston Bravo at 3500’
If there was ever a good reason to close an airport then building a race track on it is a good reason.
Sunset in Eastern Tennessee
First time I’ve flown a Skyhawk since 2008!
There was a reason. We moved the Mooney to an avionics shop about an hour away, and our partner John who is a CFII rented a Skyhawk from his school to come pick us up. Before we left the airport, he asked Brent and I if either of us wanted to work on anything, and I said why yes, I'm about due for a flight review. So he said jump in the left seat and we'll knock it out on the way back.
At least you had a flight simulator to play with on that big screen so you wouldn’t get bored
OMG, three decent sized dudes in a Skyhawk, making 385fpm at Vy, I thought we'd never get to cruise altitude. 172's are great planes and they have their mission, but I personally could never go back.
Getting to see SF from 6500’ inside the Bravo is pretty cool.
One of these things is not like the other...
