NEW YORK (AP) - So much for the curse. The New York Yankees have ended a construction worker's attempt to jinx their new stadium with a buried Boston Red Sox jersey.

I'm not sure which is funnier: the fact that a worker thought this would curse the Yankees, or the fact that they went back and spent the money to dig it up....

Since they re-did the playing surface at Wrigley, I'm hoping somebody comes out and says they found a buried Cardinals jersey or something.

I wonder if a pit bull is buried under the field at the Georgia Dome?

Wanna beat this was the decoy jersey? Couldn't a few backs be placed elsewhere?

When I lived in Cincinnati, we always joked the Marge had Schottzie I buried under the pitcher's mound....

I think it'd be really cool if Jerry Jones were buried under the new Cowboys stadium.

Like, now.

:D:D

Not only "removed it" but jackhammered it out from under TWO FEET OF CONCRETE!!

:D

How did they find out?
I think the guy bragged about the deed.

What would they have done if the guy wouldn't tell them where it was? Start the whole project from the beginning with tight security to remove any Boston contraband?

Nevermind the jersey.....they found Jimmy Hoffa there too!

I'm not surprised that they dug it up. The Yanks have a long history of folklore, much of it involving their rivalry with the Red Sox. This will just become part of it.
