I've seen some nice DIYs. Friend of mine did his A36 Bo. Wrap/cut pattern, punch holes and lace it with leather while wet and stretched over the yoke grip area so it dried tight. He used some material left over from his interior refit iirc.

Not sure it's a $50 kinda deal though, unless you use really bad materials or know of so,e good surplus stuff laying around somewhere
