FTG to CPR on Monday and back on Wednesday. Beat the storm into Casper and then followed it back into Denver. Dog-legged via DGW outbound and back to avoid the tall rocks along the route. With better weather I'll probably go via LAR in the future. VFR all the way since the clouds were undoubtedly full of ice. Rough ride on the way up and a good crosswind (quartering 21G30) for arrival. At least it was really smoooooooth coming back. All the ATC folks did a really fine job on advisories.

Atlantic is the only game in town at CPR. They were willing to give a huge price break on overnight hangar with fuel purchase but were unwilling to give a break on tie down fee with the same fuel purchase. Told me I was lucky to have the "facility" fee waved.:skeptical:

Atlantic had an "interesting" approach to tie downs: slack chains and chocks on both mains. No chain for the tail tie down. The chains used hooks through the tie down eyes as opposed to running the chain back to tie through itself. I don't think too much of the system since I know that slack chains are really a bad idea in high wind conditions.

On arrival I had to drive my own rental to the plane for bag pick-up and I had to be escorted. I thought it was funny that I had to be escorted to drive a car but tooling around the ramp with a big Cuisinart in front without an escort was okay. Somehow no escort was required when I left today. I think they have communication and perhaps comprehension problems but that's just me.

CPR was pretty dead when I arrived Monday - I was cleared to land when I was about 10 miles out. Today it was just a bit busier with a four jets and a half dozen light aircraft on the ramp at Atlantic. The commercial terminal also had a departure and an arrival while I was there. Hey, I think that's busy at CPR.

Meetings at the Casper office went okay. Probably more in the future until so organizational matters are resolved.
