I freaking hate corduroy. Touching it gives me the ick. Same with velour. One of my wife's psycho friends threatened to wrap the doorknobs in our house with corduroy, just to mess with me.

My last pair of corduroy pants were, in fact 32X30 and red. Carrying a stupid airplane battery got some acid on them and the holes eventually made them unwearable. RIP...
She's a very nice veterinarian. I'm pretty sure she'd tell you she has a sprinkling of cray-cray. Which is what I like about her.
You're not alone....I have the same issue with velour! It's been so long since I've touched corduroy that I can't say for sure with it....it's probably been at least 20-30 years but the last I can truly remember was about 40 years ago. I get the same ick feeling with some of the microfiber upholstery they put on sofas and chairs...only some of it, not all.

@GeorgeC has the same pants size as me. I have a bunch of corduroy pants in the basement, haven't worn them in some time. Can't really say why.
$400-$1250 for horrid, ill fitting pants made of any fabric are not something worn unless you live in an alternate reality (which seems to be 50% of everyone). I felt pretty good about corduroy until seeing that article. Barf...
