Use a new bolt, and a stack of washers to bolt one end of each rod to the other, then adjust the other end so you can do the same.. it won't cost 133 bucks.

That will not work if you do not have an extra control rod to stack on top of the old one. It also will not work if you have 2 of the same control rods and they are not the same length because of rigging. That method will only work if you have a spare to build up from the old one.
