I work for a consulting company as a CMMS Software Architect. I preach the benefits of CMM Systems. I show how it is done and how it can help you with your maintenance needs.
I have three plus paper log books that document my engine, airframe, propeller, and avionics maintenance history. I am living the pre-CMMS life right now and it is driving me crazy! I could set up a Maximo instance on a server in my house or on my laptop, and keep track of everything. I SHOULD do this. I have not. Maybe that is what I need to put on my PDP (Performance Development Plan) for next year. Maybe call it practice implementing a Maximo 7.5 asset management system instance.
Maximo is like dragging a main battle tank to a dart competition. Is there anything out there that is aimed at the personal owner/club market?
