APR Industries, a division of Aero Products Research, Inc., is offering their classroom student e6b computers on their site. This newly designed classroom e6b is colorful and also has a new feature called a Windspeed Cursor Arm (WCA) for quickly and accurately plotting wind correction angle. :)

I like the WCA... that should speed things up a little, and I presume no more marking the wind plotter?

The problem with the student model is that those tabs for the WCA will not last long. The metal version, although pricier, would be a better choice, even for a student.

I'm wondering if the student will be able to take it in during the written? I don't see why not, but it seems kind of like cheating. Of course I'm an old fart that still likes to use the metal one from time to time to figure things out.

I don't see why you wouldn't be permitted to use it for the FAA written.
All it does is substitute a few manual steps. Quite elegantly, I might add.

I'm not sure why this obvious ad is not posted in classifieds....
