Quotes prices on the high end if the cost spectrum. However the I do like the suggestion of going for a G2, you can pull the chute out from the baggage compartment.

Seems like there's an opportunity for a STC here combining the repack with a mod that allows future repacks in a manner similar to G2.

My boss had his done this year on his 2002 SR22. Cost was cheaper than the prices quoted in the article. When all was said and done, you can't tell they had to mess with the paint at all. To him, the safety of the chute is worth every penny of the $1,000 per year it roughly takes to pay for the repack.
