Chicago lakefront terrorized by low flying planes! Airliners.

Some early commuters and Loop-area residents were startled by the sight and sound of low-flying commercial aircraft along the lakeshore this morning, but a federal aviation official said it was nothing unusual.

I tought when Duh Mare closed Meigs he wuz gonna put a stop to dis. Too bad this was too late to be the flyover of Maggie Daley's memorial.

At least three airplanes, flying low enough so that the whine of their engines could be easily heard, were spotted about 7 a.m., flying north.

(The next paragraph says that "low" was 4000'....)

Heck, I flew right down Michigan Avenue at 4000 MSL twice one night while ORD was reconfiguring for a massive wind shift. Never heard a word about it.

Wow how sensitive are folks from Chicago? Article says the Loop area was " Jolted" Or was it just an incredibly slow news day in the city of broad shoulders ?
