Not yours but perahps some 20 yo CFI living on Ramen looking to build hours. Going rate here is $20 to $35 so $18 may be reasonable Oswego NY. I dunno.

When I started out, and I saw that the pay was a mere $19... I turned them down, opened a website, cut a deal with some flying club and decided to compete with that school...


I kicked their butts AND I made a respectable living for myself. I made about $35 an hour after my advertising expenses.

Dont exploit young CFI's because they are hungry for hours. If you treat them a bit more fairly, raise the pay to something like $25 and you will find that most of them will do everything in their power to help BUILD your business rather than just work FOR your business and drop you like a rock the moment they find somthing a bit better.

Does the CFI have to help shovel snow? Fulton, NY gets quite a bit of lake effect snow, as I recall. I spent a week there one afternoon.
