Cessna Skylane - EI Fuel Flow Issue

We have normal aspirated O-470 with gravity feed fuel using an E. I. FL-5P fuel flow system with an FT-90 flow meter. We find that the fuel flow indications become intermittent especially with ambient temps below 55 deg.F. At times the readings are just fine for a period of time than they start to decay over a few seconds and go to zero. After some time later they will appear again and usually ramp up to the correct flow within as few seconds. We have checked the wiring and connections and verified the flowmeter is not contaminated.

Has anyone else experienced such a thing?

I remember reading a pirep about that a few years ago and if memory serves the issue is a soldered board problem inside the instrument. Call customer support.

Sounds like you are in the beginning stages of a component failure, probably want to contact EI, they have good support.
