Can anyone offer advice here? I need a new battery for my Cessna 150F. Does the battery have to be specifically made for aircraft or can I buy whatever I want as long as it fits in the box and puts out the right power? FAA Approved? Thanks!

I recommend a sealed battery from Concorde. The battery has to be approved for your airplane.

The parts manual specifies a particular brand and part number for the battery. Even if you use another FAA-approved battery, you need the STC that should come with it.

Aircraft batteries have self-plugging vent caps to prevent acid spillage if it gets turned sideways or upside-down. Auto and ATV batteries don't have that, though they're mostly all sealed now.

As Tim said, a sealed RG battery from Concorde is the best bet.
