Hey ladies and gents. I just ordered a new carpet for my aircraft from Airtex and I plan to redo my interior one step at a time. Does anyone know of any tutorial videos on how to do this. I have a bit of corrosion and what I'm tracking the process should go like this:

1. Remove seats/everything from the floor of the aircraft
2. Remove old carpeting
3. Apply goo gone and remove old adhesive
4. Use Scotch Brite to remove corrosion
5. Clean with soap and water then dry thoroughly
6. Apply Zinc Chromate primer
7. Lay down new carpeting
8. Replace seating and plastics

Please let me know if anything is missing.

I prefer enamel reducer to remove old adhesive and I'd use DP-40 epoxy primer. It's splitting hairs but it's what I used when my I stripped and re-did my own interior.

PS- If you abrade the aluminum to remove corrosion you probably ought to etch and alodine the bare area before you prime.

Thanks for the input but I am mostly looking for tutorial videos for actually doing the job.

4. Use Scotch Brite to remove corrosion

Don't use scotch brite, use a plater's brush with stainless steel bristles, and naval jelly for aluminum. then wash well and remove all contaminates from the bilge.
When scrubbing with the brush, do it in a circular motion digging the bristles into the pores of the metal in the corroded area.
