Your point is well taken though.

Having worked in politics some years ago, I feel that having an incumbent with some experience in office is valuable. There is a huge learning curve for a newly elected politician, especially in a Federal office, and that person ends up relying on his advisers and lobbyists for most decisions. (well, I guess I should say "more than your typical office-holder.") So, no, I don't think term limits are useful or help.

My idea of the perfect election? Gather a group of individuals in a room, ask them to raise their hand if they want the office, and then choose the one that has his arms crossed instead.
