WHAT IS ROBORACE?

World’s first racing series for humans and artificial intelligence. It was created to accelerate the development of autonomous software by pushing the technology to its limits in a range of controlled environments.

DevBot 2.0 is the vehicle being used for Roborace Season Alpha. It is a bespoke racing platform developed specifically by Roborace. The hardware is managed centrally and is the same for each team, meaning that the only differentiator is the AI driver software the teams develop for the competition.​

DevBot 2.0 is all-electric and runs on the Nvidia DRIVE platform when in autonomous mode. It can be driven by a human or AI driver, meaning we can explore the relationship between man and machine for assisted and autonomous technologies.

As someone involved in traditional racing for the last ~15 years, while that certainly sounds innovative...does not appeal to me. I much prefer the human element, but to each there own. Interesting none the less.
