Can I get a 1st class med with a single seizure history?

I am looking into getting my 1st class medical. I had a single seizure when I was 8 years old, but the doctors never found a definitive cause. They think that it was from dehydration and heat exhaustion because it was the middle of July and I hadn’t been drinking any fluids the whole week. I have never had another seizure and it’s been 11 years now. I have also been off medication for 9 years. I have 0 other medical conditions and I am very healthy. Do you think it’s worth it to even get an exam done or will the faa immediately deny me? Thanks
 
You are actually in the window for the ability to get a medical. It will require good documentation and we always recommend preparing in advance vs being reactive to the requests from the FAA. Check out page 224 of the AME Guide.
