DFW people (and those nearby that love WWII airplanes):

National Air Tour of Historic WWII Aircraft

If you like airplanes, and the throaty roar of WWII birds, radial engines, and superchargers, mark your calendars for Oct 3-5th. Stop by and see me or one of the other volunteers at the Angel Flight South Central booth, and learn more about the work we do helping people get to life saving medical care. Oh, and if you've EVER wanted a once-in-a-lifetime ride in a B-29 Superfortress, B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator, B-25 Mitchell, P-51 Mustang, SB2C Helldiver, R4D "Ready for Duty", C-45 Expediter, Boeing Stearman or Fairchild PT19, now's your chance! Just look for the red bordered "Book an Airplane Ride" at the top of this page... buy early, save some money, and help keep these historic airplanes FLYING and not hanging in museums.

If you fly for Angel Flight and would like to volunteer to help staff the booth (which also gets you free admission, I believe), contact Elizabeth Hancy at 972 755 0433 or ehancy@angelflightsc.org and tell her Troy referred you.

"Fifi" is now at RBD. Landed just after we took off for a flight.

They had to move the bombers to Ft. Worth Meacham (or so I heard) yesterday due to a massive wind / thunderstorm deal. Sounds like everything was done safely. RBD had some damage from the wind. We got back to the airport about 30 minutes on the backside of everything. Very interesting to see!

Glad they got them moved before the line went through. I plan to be there 9am-1pm at the Angel Flight tent with Terry Davis. If you're there, stop by!

Looks great ,just to far to travel for two days.

Damage at Dallas Executive...

I think that they should rename it the "Yellow Ghost" - ok, ok, just kidding.

And my personal favorite - the one I would choose to fly (for personal reasons).

Some video from the event, including a full four-engine start and taxi-out on Fifi:

These three ladies sang great harmony (including the National Anthem); they had a "Rosie the Riveter" look-a-like grabbing elderly gentlemen to dance... funny, the young guys had no clue and would reject her dance requests, but those guys from the 40's sure know how to spin a girl around!

Great shots from overhead, Ryan!!! I was in the blue tent directly across from the yellow Piper Cub right-center, facing left, in the picture above, the tent that has a white truck right behind it.
