Finished up breakfast at DVT this morning and wandered out to the parking ramp to look at a very nice C182 for sale (no, I can't afford it yet). Wandered down to a C170 that looked recently restored.

Hmm. Cowling looks funny. I've studied Cessna 170's. That's not right.

Glance inside. Nice panel! Newer avionics. Lowrance 2000c on a panel mount. Nice interior. Red, blue and black controls.....blue?

Yup. A C170B XP according to a label on the panel. C/S prop and a large 4-cylinder engine. Guessing a IO-360 (didn't see carb heat but coulda missed it) but I can't tell engines on sight.

Very pretty plane. I wouldn't mind owning one, especially with all that power!

I would love to build you one, only the C-170-B-XP is a Tom Anderson IO-360-KB 220 horse.

other wise if it had bumps on the cowl, it is a 0-360-? 180 horse Lycoming.

I should have gotten the tail number but forgot about it. It had small bumps near the front of the cowling. The air inlet on the topside was completely open across the front, which looked really weird, too.

Let's see how the budget goes. I wouldn't mind a modified C170B-XP!
