Anyone know the current landing fees at BOS? When I lived in New England last (few years ago) they were pretty ridiculous. Wondering if anything has changed.

Do any of the outlying airports (OWD/BED/BVY) have T stations within walking distance of the field?

Bed has bus service ,owd has a train station for commuter rail but you can't walk to it.both would be cheaper even if you took a cab than paying the fees at Bos.

I use OWD. Great staff, easy in-out. T is not walking distance, but easy ride to commuter rail in a cab (and I think FBO can arrange a ride). I usually rent a car since my usual destination is along 128.

Totally agree! No brainer to use Norwood.

Fees are also higher at BED since it is a mass port airport like bos,the airport also requires a prop lock that you can rent from the FBO.fuel is also much higher than owed.

I used OWD on my last trip, great service with the FBO. Reasonable fees for 2 nights stay. My daughter provided ground transportation. 2 yrs ago it did not have the high security requirements of a MASSPort airport like Bedford.

Best is to call directly. I have not used the Mil side in 20 yrs. Do they still have an aero club there where you can park? With the MASSPort airport, unless you have a connection to the aero club, expect to pay full rate.

Take your own prop lock. And expect to be escorted from and to your airplane.

I would try LWM or BEV with a cab to the T before going to BED.
Escort not required.

OWD is not that much further from BED.

Just called BED Signature FBO.. Why is 100LL 8.75/gal?? Is it really that much? It's only 6.50 in Fairbanks, AK. Can some explain to me how our government can allow fuel to cost so much... It's tripled over 4 years...

I'm not sure if BVY is a MASSPort airport. I think it's just Logan and Bedford.

There isn't much of a "AFB side". The Hanscom aeroclub has a few tie-downs, most of those are outside the "green stripe" area (i.e., where Ma$$port rules do apply, inside is controlled by the USAF).

I believe the number for the aeroclub is (781) 225-5849 during regular business hours. They should be able to tell you what fees, etc would apply if you fly in and go through the aeroclub for tie-down, access procedures, and fuel, etc.

I go into OWD fairly regularly, No problems there. Rental car (AVIS/BUDGET last I checked) right there. Tower is friendly.

My experience at BVY was less than stellar. Friends based there admit the FBO is not particularly friendly.
