Right! I discovered him back about 1957 when I was in college. He was so different from the other popular musicians of the time - it was catchy.
Sad to see these people go, as I don't really see any such talent in the current bunch - at least not the ones promoted by the music industry. May he RIP.

RIP...Amazing how far his influence reached. I was just listening to the old Graduate soundtrack from Simon and Garfunkel the other night, and you can hear the Bo Diddley beat even there.

Saw him in Gainesville in 1984 when he was living in Hawthorne, Fla. One of THE most awesome musical events I've ever experienced. It was in a small bar downtown with a fairly good crowd. His daughter (kind of a hottie) was playing drums (or was it bass?).

His hometown of McComb, MS held a blues festival last November to honor native MS blues artists. Bo was the only living honoree present. Not content to sit by and spectate, he eased himself into the featured band, and jammed with them.
