What is your preferred source for accurate maintenance data?

1. RTFM
2. A&P/IA
3. OEM
4. SGOTI, i.e. POA
5. SWAG

:D

I'd choose 1 & 2
RTFM since it tells what should be done
A&P/IA because s/he knows the tricks to do what should be done quickly and properly.

Almost certainly not off a web board like PoA!

1 and 3

Since Im a data hound and in a previous life, I used to write some of those technical manuals.

For the average consumer; who has neither a mechanical background, nor training, nor interest in mathematics, mechanics, and thermodynamics; Id do what most do. Go ask an AP/IA and pay them. Thats what they do and they're worth every nickle.

:)

I start with a google of the symptoms and a search here. Then I ask a question here with the primary purpose knowing enough to talk to my A&P somewhat reasonably.

Aircraft/engine manufacturers manuals, service bulletins, AC 43-13, type club's maintenance notes, and my PMI at FSDO.

Never here.
