BCS fire [NA]

wow, I might start flying higher:
The explosion, one of the country's worst industrial accidents, shattered windows 25 miles away and blew two small planes out of the sky.
(ref to 1947 Texas City NH4NO2 explosion)

How much you want to wager that those two small planes were flying circles around the fire and weren't simply transiting the area...

If I what I was told was correct, that was the case with at least one of them. My paternal grandfather (who lived the last few years of his life in southern TX) had neighbors who lived in the Texas City area at the time of the explosion and I remember one of them making a comment about one of the planes being up "sightseeing" around the smoke column at the time of the first truly catastrophic explosion. The phrase "damn fool" was used to describe the pilot.

I thought this was another thread about the Bowl Championship Series
