There is a fantastic weather related website at:

http://avwxworkshops.com/index.php

which contains the best kept secret for determining icing conditions (the skew (t) log). The owner, Scott Dennstaedt who contributes to this forum has created probably the single most valuable weather related website. There are free tutorials and some are for pay but it is well worth it.

If anyone has been there and used the Skew (t) log charts, can they explain to me what is the difference between the bak40 and op40 plotting? I see a considerable difference in the vertical plotting when comparing the two over the exact same airport.

Thank you.

IIRC, the bak40 is simply a redundant run of the same software model on a different computer.

Thanks, I wondered about that too.
