Are they running a blue light special? Just like all other wars the price will be paid for generations. I think maybe one afternoon in Iraq if all goes perfect.

When the B-1 first came out, the running joke in the Air Force was that B-1 AC's wouldn't unpin their seats for flight -- nobody wanted to be the first person to have to explain having lost the first $100M jet in military history (see "Come home with your shield or on it" -- anonymous Roman general to his centurions, circa 50 BC). One supposes the same line went around for the first $1B jet in military history. Fortunately for the pilot concerned, the first B-1 loss wasn't pilot-induced, so that guy got to skate. We'll see what happens on this one, but this B-2 AC is gonna get to see if death would have been preferable to the inquisition I expect will follow this accident. One hopes it wasn't his/her fault.
