Aurora Oregon (KUAO) - chart blunder

The new sectionals and A/FDs are out. Aurora's Class D area is shown, but there is nothing about the control tower or new CTAF that became effective on October 15. IAP plates don't mention it, either. Good luck to visiting pilots! I hope everybody catches the November 4 NOTAMs.

When the tower opened in October, an item on the AOPA website said,

The new control tower might come as a surprise to pilots flying in the Portland and Salem corridor because the FAA?s current Seattle Sectional Chart won?t show the controlled airspace until a scheduled December update.​

Surprise, indeed, for yet another six months!

Foreflight's sectional chart is of course the same, but the pop-up airport tab does list the tower and frequencies.

I'm told that the local ATC specialist who personally led the design of the airspace was mortified when he saw what the charting team had failed to do.

Crazy.

For S&G, I just checked in my FF and did not see any NOTAMs. Strange. I would definitely bust the class D if I came to visit.
I bet the tower controller has the second radio tuned to 122.7 to catch unsuspecting pilots before they land.

Welcome to my world. FAA changed the frequency of Memphis Center overlying my airport October of 2014. Didn't see changes published until about 3 months ago. Didn't even get a NOTAM for it until like March or April.

Foreflight's airport tab has the up-to-date info. The NOTAMs are so old, though, you have to click the "NOTAMs/TFRs" tab for KUAO and scroll down a ways to find them.

And since Airnav follows the A/FD data, it's of no help.
