AOPA Flight Planner

Just tried the beta release -- very nice!!

Though it looks like ads will be part of the display.
I agree. Pretty nice and they rolled up all of your previous settings. No tailoring needed.
Ads are everywhere. AOPA has been flooded with them for years, especially in their ePilot and Flight Training mailings. All, if you can believe anyone, to decrease the costs of the product to their customers. So what would the cost of your favorite magazine be if it didn't have ads? More to the point, how many pages would be left if it didn't have 100 ads in it?

It seems ok but I am not a fan of online flight planning. I have used Golden Eagle for a long time and like the free version a lot. I am now fooling around with Voyager and it is pretty cool too. But for those that like online I guess the AOPA version is ok.

If the mobile user is one type of user AOPA wants to target with the flight planner, then having tons of ads will waste the user's download limits.

Did I miss something AOPA flight planner looks the same as it did last summer?
