Flying Clubs and Shared Ownership operations abound for fixed wing.

Any such critters for helicopters?

If you know of any, post info and websites so we can share with others.

My guess is it's a numbers thing.

1) helicopter pilots are a small subset of the total civilian pilot pool.

2) helicopter pilots who fly helicopters for recreation are an even smaller subset; most of the helicopter trainees have commercial aspirations and as such, don't have a long term interest in even partial aircraft ownership

3) helicopters are expensive and everyone knows it. That leaves private ownership to a small fraction...a segment of the pilot population who financial don't need to share (nor do they like to share)

4) most civilian helicopters are used commercially in some way.

The Popular Rotorcraft Association has local chapters scattered around the country. Most of the participants have gyroplanes, but a few have helicopters. Very few involve shared ownership. The website referenced below lists the chapters.

Probably the closest one to you is the chapter near Houston. I know there's at least one member there who has a single-place helicopter.

There's a guy in San Diego forming one for a gyroplane. They do 90% of what a helo can at 10% of the cost.
